I have been dealing with Spotloan, who was once known as Zest Cash, but is not a tribal lender. Several months ago I closed bank account and sent them a letter that I had overpaid and would not be paying them another dime. I received the typical emails, blah blah blah, and then about 2 months ago I received a letter from Stellar Recovery, a collection agency. Again, I sent them the same info that they were illegal, and didn't hear anything again. Now, I am receiving called from Lighthouse Recovery regarding this loan.

I wound up in a money pinch this month, and took out a $500 loan with this place to try to help get through the month. I just got a call from them at my place of employment stating that 1/2 of my loan was returned as insufficient on 05/09/2013. My total payoff was supposed to be $599. I have read in several places that this type of business is illegal in Texas, can someone please verify that information for me? They only gave me until noon tomorrow to call back to set up some type of payment arrangements... Thank you!

So I sent off my PDL revocation letters last night, and as of this morning, I have not yet heard from any of them, but when trying to log into my accounts, 3 out of the 4 have flagged my accounts to contact them. I know that I should not do this, so I will patiently wait for their emailed response. I have also already closed the account that was associated with them, opened a new account and made sure that the accounts are not linked in any way. I will keep this updated with any information that I receive! Thanks so much to these forums for their assistance and advise!

I emailed my web funds because I have overpaid the principle I borrowed by over 500. I emailed requesting a refund of the overpayment, and this is what I received from them: We have reviewed your account and the email as well, we totally understand the email you are sending as well as we understand the reason why you are sending it.

Hi, I have a few online loans out that I need to get some information on. Please correct any of these if I am wrong. Golden valley- illegal- loaned 1000 Netcash123- illegal- loaned 450 Bayside loans- illegal- loaned 400 Castle payday- illegal- loaned 550 Net cash USA- illegal- loaned 500 I am from South Dakota and am unsure of the max interest rate for an online loan in the state. I'm pretty sure these are all illegal either because they are an tribal lender or not licensed to loan in South Dakota. Also all the interest rates were 600%APR on up to 2100%.

"How do you qualify for the loan? You need to have a good credit score" The problem as I see it is, I have a good income and its my outstanding balances, which result in a LOW CREDIT SCORE so how am I supposed to get a debt consolidation loan to pay off and manage debt in order to raise my credit score when I need a "good credit score" to begin with? Catch 22!
