Has anyone had any luck with getting a settlement with them? I have overpaid and sent a letter stating I wanted the acct paid in full but they say no. The do not abide by LA states laws. They are in Costa Rica and go by their laws.

I am not doing a Job, and i am doing little business. So These days i have lots of financial Problem. pls help me

I have a settlement letter from Wells Fargo in hand. We've verbally agreed to a settlement figure but I told them I needed it memorialized in writing, so they did that. However, I want to be certain there isn't anything missing from this letter. Also note that this settlement is for a HELOC loan which had already been charged off (per Wells Fargo), and is still with Wells (not sold to a third party yet). Here is an exerpt: "This letter confirms that Wells Fargo Bank has agreed to accept a settlement of amounts owed on the above-referenced account. The current balance is $xxxx.

Can anyone answer this question for me?

If internet PDL's are illegal in my state. Is there any grounds for the Collection Agency to try and sue since the initial debt is illegal? What is the statute of limitations in the state of KY?

I sent the suggested letters and the response that I received from CashNetUSA is posted below. They are legal in Texas. What should I do now? I plan to go to the bank and ask to put my account in deposit status only. I don't want to close my account because another acct in the past was closed for PDLs and NSF fees. So, I'm afraid that I won't be able to open another account. CASHNETUSA RESPONSE: The ACH authorization that you signed upon agreement of loan disbursement is a payment authorization.

Can I still send a debt validation letter to a CA (or am I supposed to send it to the OC instead?) after the charge off happened over a year ago, or more like 3 years ago? There are 3 on my report from different CA's so can I send them out at the same time? I was just wondering if I've lost my rights to do this or is there no time frame in validating a debt....

Does anyone have any info on using one of these companies, just curious thought about making the call, any info would help.

I cosigned for a friend and I rue the day I did so. Not only was she deficient on payments, she would also lie to me about every detail - including when the car was reposed (she said she sold it). Now, two years later I have had two different agencies (one a collection agency and one a law office) trying to collect $11,380.04 from me. I realize that I cosigned and I asked for this. I am now sending Suttell & Assoc. a letter requesting validation of debt, but I feel like its a lost cause. Does anyone have any advice on this matter? Is there anything, short of bankruptcy, I can do?
