I live in Texas, and got a payday laon from an online front called payday-loan-yes. I fell behind and emailed them a week before my payment date and told them to stop all payments via ach. wells fargo put a stop payment on it as well and it worked. Now my family is getting text messages from someone saying they are a fraud investigator. What do I do, i cant get anyone to tak to me

NCO has been calling us 6-8 times a day since March. I finally contacted an attorney and when NCO called on Sunday, I told them I've contacted an attorney and they shouldn't be calling us anymore. They haven't called our home, but yesterday, they started calling my husband on his direct line at work, which is not a public number. How low do these guys stoop??

Has anyone in here actually sued the credit bureaus before? I am just starting the process here and wondered how it went? Thanks...I just got the papers from my attorney today and was looking for advice from fellow cra sue-er...thank you

Does anyone know who this number belongs to? I have had two calls from this number threatening legal action if I do not respond in 24 hours! The latest message today was that this Don Harris would sen someone to my home and or work with a document that requires my signature and stated "you have been warned' I hate being threatened!!!

I just received a call from a Mike Wilson (had a very thick foreign accent) at 818-338-5053 stating he had a lawsuit against me and I had better call back or he wished me luck in the future if I did not call back. He did not identify what company he was with or what account it was pertaining to. I do have outstanding accounts in collections but set everyone up on a debt management plan through T & C. Has anyone received a call from this person or company?

So I'm signed up with Superior Debt, and have been receiving calls from Richard J Boudreau and Associates (I googled the #) regarding a Citi account. I asked my rep at SDS if I should even answer/call them back and this is what she replied with: "I looked them up and they appear to be in New Hampshire, they have no jurisdiction in CA, so they are technically only able to call and try to collect on the debt. If you have nothing to offer to them, calling them is not going to help a thing" Now I have no reason to doubt what she's saying, but is this true?

A friend of mine just told me that he is going thru this company and they already cut his debt almost in half to credit card companies. He is supposed to send his payments to them. I am very concerned about this company and if they are legit. Please post if you have had any contact with this company and give details if possible. Thank you very much.

Debt Settlement companies apply the first several monthly payments (Vary) toward upfront fees of up to 10-15 (I've read about more) percent of the consumer's credit card debt. Then they also apply each monthly payment toward a monthly maintenance fee of $30 to $60 (I've read about more $$) for just being in the program. The remainder of the monthly payment goes into an escrow (Bank) account until enough money accrues to make a settlement offer to the credit card company, which often takes several months.

I have had Mr. Johnson from Ace Cash Express call me, I told him I could not afford the full amount and then he told me he would take half and I told him I will pay what I could, I went in and paid $50.00 on the loan that was in default, The next Monday he left me a voice mail saying he did not like the way I handled this and to have a nice day and he would be contacting my office so they would not be caught off guard. I had closed my account because my wallet was lost at the gym.

I live in Maryland and have 7 payday loans, with a total of about $2500 owed. I had to withdraw the cash I had in the bank because my husband got laid off and I wanted to pay our necessities, so their ACH debits on my last payday were all returned. Some of them attempted to put them through twice on the same day. Now, not only do I still owe all of this money, my bank assessed me over $350 in return ACH charges. I am beside myself with worry and don't know what to do. Because of the bank fees, I now can't even afford my regular bills for the rest of the month.
