we filed chapter 7 bankruptcy 6-05 and now we have been receiving phone calls and letters from one of the creditors from credit cards we filed on. This is about the third creditor that has done this to us. All of these things were filed on and I believe by 9-05 it was discharged. My understanding was they could never contact you again. what do I tell these people?

Im dealing with cashland and ohio valley payday loans.Altough i dont owe a lot of money my job cut my hours enough to where im hurting.Im tempted to try to cut out one payday loan by using my bank overdraft but then again i may dig a bigger hole.I cant live like this anymore payback only to borrow the same day to payback two loan companies.any idea's or help please.

i was curious if you guys help pay off charge offs too along with past due accounts

As some of you may remember, I have around a $6400 debt with HSBC. This account went from Direct Merchant Bank/Metris to HSBC. I found out in May 09 that the account was written off and sold then assigned to a collection agency in my state of Illinois. I had been making small semi regular payments on this account up until April of this year. HSBC told me that the account had been legally sold to The Bureaus. The Bureaus told me they had assigned it to ARS. This was all done by phone. ARS contacted me and I requested validation. They rec'd the letter on May 11.

So, not the best outcome. I would ideally have liked a refund of the interest paid. Because they are wrong and Oregon law states that even though the contract is signed online Oregon law applies. If a credit card was approved on the internet and there was no per say signature how can collectors prove that it is yours?

Hello Everyone! First and foremost thank you to everyone for their contributions to this forum. There is a great deal of helpful information here. Here is my situation: I currently have ~100k in mostly CC debt. All accounts are current, but this summer that will most likely change as I do not have enough summer savings to make all minimum payments. I live in California, I am a teacher, and I do not own a home. My the bulk of my cc debt is as follows- Amex- 9,000 BofA Loan- 47,000 BofA Card- 9,000 Chase- 1,200 Citi- 14,000 Disc- 14,000 My question is, where in the heck do I begin?

after looking up zip19 I found you guys, thankfully. I have no other option and I really need to get a PDL. I am in California, I have read the laws regarding my state and PDLs. Anyone know who I could go through? I have come up with Check n Go, they have the cfsa seal on their site. IMG from checkngo.com I don't think I have the credit to get a small (1000.00) personal loan from my bank, so I have to get 300.00 or so from a PDL. What do you think? Thanks for any advice.

I have a business that is failing and I have stopped paying my business credit cards. I contacted Citibusiness by letter about three weeks ago offering to settle a 15000 on 49000. I know I am early in the process as I am only sixty days later, but I wanted get something on file. I haven't heard anything. No phones calls requesting payment etc. Anyone experience this with Citibusiness? The second card I am trying to tackle is AMEX. They started calling at about 10 days late and haven't stopped. I finally spoke to them today adn told them the situation.

where can i find letter to send for my son who in in the milatary and i have power of att, to handle this thing.
