With this down fall on economy, job continues to deteriorate more home continues to go into foreclosure, think twice before you hire any firm to do your loan modification. I myself and knows others had made some big mistake retaining a firm to do ours loan modification. Keep in mind No firm can guaranteed you 100% outcome; if they do than negotiate tell them you willing to pay 25% front and the balance paid in full when the job is done.

I am trying to find some help in dealing with storefront payday loans. I currently have 3 and am getting to the point of not being able to pay the fees and re-write. I am getting ready to also close out my bank account and wanted to know if I did would that be commiting fraud on my part? I live the in the state of kentucky if this helps. Has anyone had any dealing with storefront payday loans and can help me?

Hello I am 28 years old and i will be buying my first house in the next 8 months i hope. I have been working on my credit for the last 4 months by opening an installment loan,credit card,merchant card. All of these accounts have been paid each month and in good standing. I have some collections on my credit that i was unable to get removed. I have been looking into tradeline credit accounts but it will cost me some money to get them added. That's no big deal if it will work. If not should i just pay off all the collections first. What would be the best move for me.

i've been on this site for 6 months now. the site has really helped me out alot. i've been in a settlement program since 2/9, and i got my first settlement offer today. chase has offered me a 3300 dollar offer on 8700, so i took it.1 down and 3 more cards to go, it's a long way but it feels good to get the first one out of the way. still have boa 22000, chase 15000, and hsbc 15000. i've been 9 months without a credit card and it feels good to live within my means for once, i will never even own a card again when this is over.

I had a military credit card turned into the IRS to garnish my tax refunds. Is has also been turned into a collection agency. The original debt was around $3000, but due the 33% interest rate they are still charging, the debt is around $5000, even though they have taken my last 3 tax refunds. Question: Since the date of the last missed payment is over Califronia's Statue of Limitations (4 years), can they no longer attempt to collect debt? Or does my tax refund payment count as activity on the account? Thanks!

When a company buys a debt that is outside SOL can they put that on your credit report. I had an old cell phone bill that fell off due to the time, and now it's back with a different company

so my phone rings around 6:20am this morning. of course i answer it because i know no collection agency in their right mind would be calling me at this hour. and to my surprise its that collection agency from india claiming to be a law firm for american credit services asking me for my attorney information. saying on monday they are filing legal documents against me.

Well these people crawled out of the woodwork again with a different CA, this time Glacier Star Group called this morning. When he told me who he was collecting for I started laughing. I told them, oh, you have the account now. Then I told him that they were not legal or licensed to lend in my state and he said ok. I told him that my state was working with me on this account and to send me a letter and I will forward it to my state. He again said ok. lol. He really didn't have a chance to say anything.

Hello, I owe $4,500 to MRS Associates for a Chase credit card I had when I was younger. They are calling myself and my parents. I never answer the phone. They send me letters about once every two months and then they stop communication all together. They have, on the last letter, offered me 3 settlement options but since I am on unemployment I am not able to utilize any of them; their deadline is the end of the month for me to utilize them. Can they take me to court? What can I do? What shouldn't I do?
