What if the check returns, and my account has been closed, can they bring criminal charges against me?

I have caller id on my phone and twice today it has rang with a local number that I haven't been able to get to. They haven't left a voice mail. I looked up the number in our customer database and couldn't find anything. I did a reverse look up and it's registered as a home number for someone. Could a PDL be using this number and trying to call me at work? I thought it was strange that they called me twice and haven't left a voice mail. I know it sounds kinf of stupid but I hate being scared to answer my phone...

I have a payday loan through Zip19 for $850. I was unable to pay them on my last check and now am getting calls from them. I tried to make an arrangment to pay 1/2 on my next check and 1/2 on the check after that. They are unwilling to make any kind of arrangment. What should I do. They are telling me that they will contact my employeer about garnishing wages. They already called to verify my employment.

I sent debt validation letters to the ppl on my credit report.. diversified sent me a old bill back that was not mine. it had nothing containing that they could collect in this state nor showing anything about them having a registered agent here... Other companies I am trying to take to small claims court but they have no registered agents here from what I have seen.... How do I go about taking them to court? Just file the paperwork and wait?

Hello, I sent a Request letter to stop contact (by collection agencies) (I got it off this website's letter section) to a creditor and have sent payment to the original creditor. The collection agency received the letter (I sent it certified) and yet they called me yesterday at work as well as on my cell phone. They also re posted it to my credit report. Since I have choosen to work with the original creditor and requested they stop their collection efforts, shouldn't they stop? I know they should stop calling me, but can they still report it to the credit bureaus?

Ok I just got laid off from my job and have 4 payday loans I need paid off due yesterday! There allready harrassing me one from kingston financial one from united cash and 500 cash and ezpayday cash united cash is at 350 now cuz of a bounced check 500 fast cash is also at 350 and ez payday is at 455 and kingston at 400 I don't know what to do... I'm nervous in thinking of doin a consolidation loan can any one help me

Where do I look to see if the pdl's are licensed or CSO?

I live in Texas. I defaulted on a CashNet USA pdl 2 years ago. A few days ago, a woman called me and said she was from the HZB Financial Fraud Department and that CashNet had "recalled" the loan and wanted to prosecute me for check fraud. Because of this, I gave her financial information I shouldn't have without checking thoroughly first. I did a bit of leg work and found out that, as far as I can tell, the loan has been sold several times. I haven't been able to get a hold of NCA to find out if they sold it.

I received 3 threatening messages yesterday (2 on my cell and 1 at work) where they called from 941-961-8518 and 818-338-5046. They said they needed to hear back from me or my attorney immediately. I did some research prior to calling them back and found that this does indeed appear to be a scam. The call went exactly as every description on the net stated. He (Max Jackson with a heavy foreign accent)told me I had an unpaid payday loan, that they were filing three fraud counts against me in DE court at 11am today.
