Hello, I need some advice/reassurance on a situation I got myself into wth these guys. I got a call from Greg Adams and Associates. They were calling about a payday loan I had with Ace cash Express in April 2009. An Alexander Flores says that he was calling for his client (Ace Cash Express) and this is my debt, etc and so he says that ACE would be filing a civil suit against me within 10 days if i did not reach a settlement today. I paid the amount that he asked for because I knew it was my debt. Here's why I'm concerned: . I made this payment on 2/13.

Brighton Financial: borrowed $200, paid $2,400 Jupiter Funding Group: borrowed $250, paid at least $500 Blue King Financial: borrowed $400, paid $250 - Advance Sovereign Financial: borrowed $400, paid $200 Castle PayDay: borrowed $750, paid back $262 most of these payments are just their "fees". How do I get them to consider the loan in full...and how do I get a refund from Brighton and Jupiter? Thanks!

I have had multiple online payday loans. Recently i have been unable to make the payments so I followed the blog on your site and closed my checking and advised each one to only contact me through email. I asked each one to provide me with an address to send them payments too. I also advised them not to phone me. I was contacted today by allied financial ca. Asking to set up.payments. I had them give me their address and asked for a collection letter to be sent. I live in Iowa. Online payday loans are illegal here because they are not licensed here. What is the next step I should take?

I have numerous payday loans. I am closing my bank account today and contacting the pay day loans to work out a payment plan. Are there are any other steps I'm missing?

I received one of these forms in the mail for my deceased husband. We never shared a credit card. Should I notify them of his death, or just ignore this letter. Previously a credit company put my husbands debt on my credit report. I found out through Privacy Guard, and had it removed. I should have sued them. I want to be careful how I handle this. Received a summons for a credit card debt that went into collections over 10 1/2 years ago. State of Indiana SOL is 6 years. This debt is so old that it doesn't even show on my credit reports. I answered the summons truthfully, with most responses being that I deny due to lacking sufficient knowledge after all it is going on 11 years since it first went delinquent. Now I wait and hope that it gets dismissed. But if it should go further, how do I prove that this is beyond the SOL when it does not show up on my credit reports?

So let me run this past you... My husband and I both have been through quite a few rough years financially. Several layoffs, the economy tanking and multiple hospitalizations later and our credit is in a shambles. We just pulled our credit reports though and found that because of time, many old debts have expired and we are left with a handful of small debts and 2 large debts from repossessions. We are finally to a point in our lives where we are not just scraping the bottom of the barrel to live and we would prefer to settle these debts on our own.

Back in 2008 I received a collection letter from Allied Interstate, trying to collect on a credit card debt. Now, in 2013 I am receiving letters from a local law firm, tring to collect on this same account. The law firm is claiming to have been "assigned" by the original owner of the acct. (a major credit card co/bank). Do original creditors ever take back accounts ? Something about this is fishy....
