I have had multiple online payday loans. Recently i have been unable to make the payments so I followed the blog on your site and closed my checking and advised each one to only contact me through email. I asked each one to provide me with an address to send them payments too. I also advised them not to phone me. I was contacted today by allied financial ca. Asking to set up.payments. I had them give me their address and asked for a collection letter to be sent. I live in Iowa. Online payday loans are illegal here because they are not licensed here. What is the next step I should take?

I received one of these forms in the mail for my deceased husband. We never shared a credit card. Should I notify them of his death, or just ignore this letter. Previously a credit company put my husbands debt on my credit report. I found out through Privacy Guard, and had it removed. I should have sued them. I want to be careful how I handle this. Received a summons for a credit card debt that went into collections over 10 1/2 years ago. State of Indiana SOL is 6 years. This debt is so old that it doesn't even show on my credit reports. I answered the summons truthfully, with most responses being that I deny due to lacking sufficient knowledge after all it is going on 11 years since it first went delinquent. Now I wait and hope that it gets dismissed. But if it should go further, how do I prove that this is beyond the SOL when it does not show up on my credit reports?

So let me run this past you... My husband and I both have been through quite a few rough years financially. Several layoffs, the economy tanking and multiple hospitalizations later and our credit is in a shambles. We just pulled our credit reports though and found that because of time, many old debts have expired and we are left with a handful of small debts and 2 large debts from repossessions. Back in 2008 I received a collection letter from Allied Interstate, trying to collect on a credit card debt. Now, in 2013 I am receiving letters from a local law firm, tring to collect on this same account. The law firm is claiming to have been "assigned" by the original owner of the acct. (a major credit card co/bank). Do original creditors ever take back accounts ? Something about this is fishy....

Ideal gelt $750 - Paid: $675 Ameriloan $250 -Paid: $300 USfastcash $300 - Paid - $620 Netpdl $200 - Paid $ 158 The fees are outragous AND keep changing. Usfast cash was down to $30 for this week(was paying it down) now its $65! Same with Ameriloan. Should be $75 this week, just checked my balance..they will be taking out $125!!! So naturally I investigate and find Im paying illegal payday loans! I'm aware of the certified C&D letter I will need to send. Ugh.
