My daughter just turned 18 and we checked her credit reports because she got a letter from one of her employers saying their payroll dept had an employee take SSN's, etc. and to check their credit. Well, it appears that she had a Capital One card opened (not by her). We found out it's her aunt (on her dad's side, who lived with us for about a year). She had gotten this in my daughter's name and maxed it out, paid a little on it, but then let it go. We don't want her to go to jail for it, so we don't want to press charges, but how do we go about disputing this?
