where can i find the internet payday laws for tn

my bank account has been negative for about a month now. i don't want to go to jail over it. thanks.

I get so confused about the laws on PDLs in NJ. I know that it states that they are prohibited, but I had called the NJ Dept. of Banking and Insurance a few months ago and I was told that there was nothing they could do for me and if I had signed a contract I needed to work out something with the lender. Now I call again and the woman I spoke with was telling me they are in fact illegal and that they cannot loan to anyone in the state of NJ and that they cannot collect legally in NJ.

Hi Folks, I am sending a letter to Nationwide today, to ask them to stop calling me. I've been making steady payments for a year on a debt owed to American express, and I intend to keep making those payments. When I tell them to stop calling, what will happen next? Will they continue to be the holder of my collection acct or will they pass me on to someone else or tell Amex that I'm not being cooperative? Thanks in advance!

i have 11000 in debt and could not afford the min payments anymore. they are 30 days past due and they call constantly -i have even started a second job and the income is still not enough - i am also a month behind on my mortgage. i contacted a debt management place but i can not even afford that with my income. what can the credit card companies do to me? What should i do? please help

After following up with my payday loan companies, I finally found that the calls I had been getting were initiated by I-Collect. They then turn the accounts over to Bass and Associates to collect for them. After I talked to the payday company and they realized it was a mistake, they said they would contact I-Collect. About an hour later I received an email from I-Collect saying all collection attempts would stop. Have any of you received one of these emails and did they, in fact, stop?

Ok I have made it through most of my busy stuff. Now just 2 more to go and one coming up in 3 weeks :shock: I am still not ready for it. But now I am on 2nd shift :x So that puts a damper on alot of my running that needs to be done. But yesterday I got a call from my daughter (I was up at the cabin) and she told me that she hit a deer on sat. night driving her boyfriend home :x He had called her to come and get him because he had a flat tire and had no spare :x This was 10:30 at night and about 20 miles from here but yet he lives another 45 mins. from where she picked him up from.

I just received an alert on one of my credit reports that Zenith left a neg entry. It don't say what the account if for, just an amount and next to that it says "collections". I have an idea what account it can be, and this account is over 6 years ago. What exactly does that mean when they leave an entry on there? I never received anything from them
