who and how much do i owe to capital 1 collection agency for overdue credit card payment for bankof america!

I have received the following credit lines since Febuary 2007. American Express Blue $30K,Discover $6K,Chase $15k, and yesterday applied for American Express Clear.Approved today!Yea!!! :shock: :mrgreen: :mrgreen: :mrgreen: :mrgreen: :mrgreen:These will trim out my credit report nicely.Now just gotta remember to use them at least once a month to keep them dust free! :lol:

Has anyone heard of MRS, Inc or Mirand Recovery Services? The address they gave me was: P.O. Box 219050 Houston, TX 77218 But the phone number they were calling from was 312-768-5603 which I believe is Chicago. They called me May 1 about an overdrawn bank account (don't have one anymore, paid it off). I asked them to send something in writing which by law they must do in 5 days. They called again May 10. Still no letter. Of course they say they sent it. Was just wondering if anybody ever heard of them. Am going to send a DV but want to make sure I have the correct address. Thanks!

I called a CA before I knew about this website because my mother received a call at the house from the collection agency. During the call, I stated that I was paying a law firm money every month on this account. It turns out the CA is calling about another account besides the one I am currently paying. Anyway here is the question. I never directly admitted or confessed that I owed on this account. The collector asked me if I ever had an account with _____ credit card. I finally said" Maybe I don't know.

I recieved a letter today from afni about a cingular bill. It says i disputed this as being a victim of fraud. I never said that to them all i did was send a certified letter of validation. My question is this it says original bal 1164.38 collection fee 174.65 balance due 0. What does this mean, that they have cleared the amount due?they also want me to fill out a declaration of fraud any help is appreciated. Thank you.

About 3 weeks ago i received a leter from Palisades Collections Demanding Payment for a Verizon Bill from an old phone number. I called the number on the letter and learned that the bill was from 2001, I had had the service discontinued in 2000 when I moved. I stated that there was obviously a mistake and was rudly informed that if there was, it was my mistake, and that they would be happy to snd me a copy of the bill. Instead of a copy of the bill, what I received approximately 2 weeks later, was papers from superior Court informing me that i am being sued.

Has anyone recently been contacted by this "company" about an alleged debt after signing up for either a mortgage service online, or being pre-qualified for a mortgage?

credit card debt LAST payment April 2001, due to a job loss. Credit card company never sent me to a collection agency. April 2007, I am contacted by a CA for this account. The SOL for my state is 6 years. Since they have contacted me within the SOL does that mean I have to pay them? Or am I out of the SOL because they should have started their collections process at 5 1/2 years old to be able to go through the entire process and be able to go to court before 6 years? SOL starts at last payment and not chargeoff is what I understand. CA is using usual high pressure tactics.

Hey all - I'm pretty sure I know how to handle this, but just would like some clarification. I just received a bill from afni collection agency for what appears to be an old cell phone bill that belongs to my ex. I never had service with "Contel South", so I can only assume it's his. The bill is addressed to him, but came to my address. (He is several states away from me.) Now, could this be happening because his SSN is still showing on my credit report?
