Hello everyone I am new here. I just sign on today. I see there are alot of people in the same boat that I am in, which is good to not feel like the outsider. I have taken out 4 payday loans back in september. I was one week away from my wedding and had to pay off a few more things. I didn't have a choice. The question I have is that I paid back one of them out of the 4 and I still can't seem to pay back the rest. I am so tired of them taking out lump sums of $75-79 every 2 weeks and the money is still not going down. They are getting paid funds on funds.

My husband recently received a letter from Asset Acceptance to collect 40% of a balance from Holiday Spa Health Clubs. He joined about 15 years ago, injured his back, and was not able to work let alone exercise for several months. They insisted he pay dues in spite of his injury and I believe he sent a copy of his state disability information in hopes that they would leave him alone. We have copies of his credit report from 1998 showing a Perimeter Credit / Bally's (who purchased Holiday Spa) as the account name.

Hi my name is Melissa, and I too have fallen victem to the payday loan sharks I have 6 outstanding payday loans I tried to negotiate payments with two companies one of them was pretty resonable with the payments, but I lost the phone number and because I'm working a temporary job it varies a lot on how I can pay my bills as my job comes and goes it' not gauranteed. I don't know how they approved me in the first place as I was working as a temporary when I was getting these payday loans.

asset acceptance is sent me a 'dun' offering 70% discount of a debt of $428.00 that among others that was discharged in U.S. bankruptcy court over 13 years ago. I believe they are in violation of federal law because if I pay $128.00 they are demanding it will certainly not do anything positive for my credit rating and I think it is against federal law to try and collect a debt that has been discharged. This is called harrassment. The amount originally owed was to Diner's Club. I had to file for bankruptcy during nasty divorce proceedings.

Someone from "Anthony Galloway and Associates" called me today about a loan that I paid in full!! (And I have the bank documents to prove it!). At the time of their call, I was confused and did not know until later what the actual discrepancy was. They asked me to pay $521.50 by noon today. Being initially scared by their "arrest" threats, I agreed to pay. After the call, I searched on the internet, and found this website! Thank you! I now know they have no legal ability to do anything they threaten.
