From Minnesota had 3 PDLs about4 years ago. They 3 were illegal and were grossly overpaid. I had on an off gotten the typical recorded threat from different collection agencies but got a call today from Midland Credit Management. 800-265-8825, didn't leave any details said it was an attempt to collect a debt. I read that this company is awful and very fraudlent, tries to collect on debts that are past SOL or paid off. I have not ever heard of them trying to collect on a PDL. Has anyone in the PDL area heard of this group collecting PDLs.

We were in the process of refinancing our mortgage and the last thing we needed to close was to clear a judgement on our credit report. I was currently paying off an old credit card bill through a wage garnishment because I did not show up for court, thinking I could not be sought for "unsecured" debt. Anyway, the wage garnishment was through Portfolio Recovery and Affiliates but when I pulled my credit report recently it showed a judgement from Hilco. There is no other data to follow up on. So, I went to the local recorders office where the jusdgement was filed and found nothing there.

I thought I was out of payday loan hell, thanks to this forum... I had an identity alert come through my e-mail and it turns out someone used my name and social security number to try an open a Discover Card. It was denied because my credit sucks, but could this be a result of the dumb payday loans?

I recently checked my credit report and I noticed 2 judgements against me. One in the amt. of $261.00 filed 1/08/2011 & 2nd $562.00 filed 11/26/2011. I'm not sure where this is coming from. Only thing I can possibly think of is an eviction back in 2008? If I appear at the New York County Clerks office will I be arrested? Can I just call them? This is all new to me.

I have received numerous calls with an automated voice (they usually call on weekends) from "Allied" at 800-342-8576 telling me I am to contact "James Taylor." I have left messages for this person (when I can get through which is rare) & get no return phone call from him, only repeated automated calls informing me I need to call about a debt (and I am current with all of my creditors). Should I write a cease & desist letter to them since I can never talk to a living human being?

I receive a call from a woman saying she was from thinkcash and I had an unpaid debt from 2008 and if I didn't pay it they were going to file a suit to garnish my wages. I told her the total amount that was lend to me was $700 and money was taken out of my account for a little over two years. She ask If I had a paid in full letter, I told her no. she said with interest the total amount due now is,895.00. What should due, should I pay it ?
