Hello,
I have been reading through the posts and have finally gotten the courage to begin the steps to get out of this payday loan mess. So I have gone to the bank and attempting to close my account.
I never signed anything electronically requesting this loan from these people. I filled out a form and I received about 50 responses from various companies. I chose to go with one company called iadvance. I had to sign an electronic signature no less than 8 times and provide identification. That was the ONLY COMPANY I agreed to have a loan with. Then 4 days later I discover that my bank account had an additional deposit of $300.
Okay heres what happened I got a payday loan while I was working it was not my first but i had paid off every other time. well I got into nursing school and i asked the store to wait till i go my money to pay it off. They refused and there was nothing I could to months later they took some money out of my bank account. That was about a year ago now I just finished school and I get a call from Mr. Brown saying he is from Capital associates and that easy loans is sueing me and he asked me how much my loan was for shouldn't he have known that?
I have four outstanding pdl loans. It was quiet for months. Now I have heard from two of them in the past three days. Is there something that triggers them to start up after a long period of no calls?
I tried to talk to the one today, but he would not listen.
I have been getting a series of calls from someone named Cristian Monaco. The call came from 315 410 8771 (Syracuse NY area code) Stating the followinging, " weve been asked to speak with you before accepting a request to present a plaintiff with a criminal mischief charge Affidavit # 65240"
before I call them I wanted to knoe what is meant by his sentence. Does criminal mischief charge have anything to do with a debt collection?
I have been unemployeed for 8 months and have explained to a previous similar call that I am unable to pay until I get a job. :(
First, I don't have any credit card debt. I paid off those debts years ago and just never applied for new ones. The debts that I am in collections for are as follows:
Dental (root canal): $800
Dental (cleaning/filling):$240
Medical (my daughter didn't have insurance for an ER visit): $2100
Car Repo: $3000
Disney: $50
Cable Bill: $120
Verizon: $500
AT&T: $500
Gas Company: $200
Magazine: $30
Salle Mae: $12000
I think there may be one or two more that are around $100-200.
Right now, I make about $45,000. I'm a single parent and don't get any gov't help.
They have been calling me non-stop. Called at 6:30 am this morning. They stated that I had an arrangement to pay 390 last week (no arrangement, just them sending me a letter saying they'd accept that amount). I hadn't spoken to them at all. They are saying they're with Receivable Management.
She stated they were going to call my employer, verify my wages and garnish my wages today. Can that be done?
How should I handle?
Well, here we go. I sent my email to Cash on Wheels explaining that I paid my origional loan of $550 in full and have over paid by $596. I demanded a refund but I probably won't see it. I used the form letter here but couldn't find laws for PA so I left that part out. I can take the harrassing calls to my cell but I hope they leave me alone at work. Eeek. I'm afraid they are going to call non-stop!
Hey guys, long time reader, first time poster.
A few months back, my mother-in-law died. No estate, no money, had been living off of Social Security with another one of her daughters for years.
Well...today I got a letter from Asset Acceptance addressed To Whom It May Concern, regarding the 'estate' of my deceased MIL.
