Appreciate the help in advance. Info: Neiman Marcus Date Open - 9/2004 Last activity - 1/2008 Charge Off - 2/2009 Cavalry Portfolio Service appears to have bought that debt and reports Date Open - 12/2011 Show C (collection) from 1/2012 to 3/2013 What is the next best step? How can I get Cavalry off my report? Since Neiman Marcus debt is past 4 years, can Cavalry still sue me? Can I get Neiman Marcus off my report since it is so old? Thanks

collectors demanding items back after bankruptsy has been discharged

12 years 2 months ago
Recently my mother went through bankruptcy. It was discharged with no creditors arriving at the meeting of creditors. She has now received a letter from Bass and Associates and has received phone calls from them stating that the furniture she bought on a Furniture Row store card needs to be returned. This card was considered unsecured. The letter she received dated 3/7/2013 stated that the bankruptcy was discharged but they want mom to "Voluntarily" return the items. The person who called threatened my mother stated "it was their right" to receive the furniture back.

Survey from a Lender

12 years 2 months ago
Hello, I am in the process of opening a new payday loan company and we are in the process of designing our website. I have a few questions to ask all to help with our start. I appreciate the help. 1. Where is the first place you look for a payday loan shop? Google? A site like this? Word of mouth? 2. Would you choose one site over another because of the ability to make payments/pay more than the renewal fee online instead of having to make a call even though the renewal fee may be higher? ie, having to pay $70 every 2 weeks on a $200 loan instead of $60. 3.

online lenders

I had followed instructions from post on this site regarding internet payday loans. I am in Indiana and dealing with mycashnow.com and cashyes.com. I contacted them and received a response that since I went online and applied for loans that they do not need to hold a license in Indiana. All of the information on this site has stated that they must be licensed in Indiana. I am totally confused and now do not know what to do? I do not want to get into any legal trouble over this.

As of right now I have 3 payday loans and I would like to get rid of them as soon as possible. Does anyone know where I can find out if it is legal in my state, or a place to help get rid of these?

Plain Green

12 years 2 months ago
I wrote a letter to Plain Green asking them to close my account as they agreed to. I live in AZ where payday loans are prohibited. I paid them over $5,000 in interest and requested to have that refunded to me. They told me that they are an indian tribe and they don't have to abide the the state laws. Is there anything I can do?

Payday Loan Help

I received a harassing call today from someone that gave me a name and said for me to call a number. I called the number back that he called me from and he asked me how I got his number and I was not to call him he said he was going to block my number and I was to call the number he gave me. I called that number and it was suppose to be some type of collection agency. I posted dated a check about 8 years ago for $300.00 dollars and the gentleman said I owed a payday loan $1440.00 and they would make a settlement with me but I had to fax in something in writing today.

cancelled Account

I wrote a letter to one of the payday loan lenders to request for them to close my account because it was brought to my attention that payday loans are prohibited in the state of AZ. I received an email back from them with in 24hrs. that they have closed my account. I did request money back because I have over payed them over $5,000.00 in interest. This is the response I received. Can I do pursue further action and if so how? Your correspondence has been directed to me for review. We are sorry you are not satisfied with your Plain Green Loan.

Threats

I just found out that we didnt fully pay off a payday loan from 2007. Some investigator just called and told me that my husband will be arrested tomorrow if we don't come up with all of the money. I asked for a written copy of the loan and then also tried to set-up a payment plan with them. They said seems they are investigators they dont have to give me anything. I am scared. My husband is 64 and in poor health.
