I lost my job at the beginning of the year and have moved twice with no luck in finding another... and I am currently 8 1/2 months pregnant. Needless to say, I haven't been able to pay my debtors in a while. I've recently been receiving help from my partner so I am trying to get back on track with all of them. Today, I recieved a summons from a credit card company that I owe around $650 to. I feel that I can pay them something now, as I had intended to do, before I was summoned. Is it possible to set up payments now? Even after they have decided to sue me?

I borrowed $300 from MyCashNow, for which they charged me $59.94. I have repaid this in full. I didn't know any better til I joined this forum. As I am in New York, the amount of interest they charged was illegal. Because I paid the loan off, I can borrow from them again. I'm toying with an ethical choice I guess - do I borrow another $100 from them and then refuse to pay it back because the loan is illegal, just to get my money back? I'd even be willing to send them back the $40 difference to square the accounts.

I have the settlement in writing and a debit card receipt. a new collection company is now sending me the same debt with a balance of $210.00. The first company IMR is now closed (lynnwood, Washington) Please help ... I live in Florida and the orignal APR was over our states limit (apr 790%) How should I handle the second collector ??

Hey guys, it has been a while since I have been on here. Life kind of took over and now life has hit the skids. So to make a long story short, My family was also hit by the bad economy. We had our debt managed and getting our credit score up there. Then I got laidoff, my wife was laidoff she has been able to find something. I haven't been able to yet. We fell behind on our auto loans, bills, and rent. We moved into a smaller place with a lower rent and lower utility bills.

I am in a financial mess. I have the following pay day loans out in Texas: Ace express Spot on loans Payday one bottom dollar western sky From what I was reading, all are legal in Texas. I need out of this financial mess. It has cost me a home, and almost my car. I keep reading about a letter, and the one I found quoted alot of laws, and stated it was for illegal PDLs. I just need to know where to start. I want to close my account. If I do that, what are the PDLs remedies? My credit is in the sewer now. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.

I was paying out more than my bi-weekly check to satisfy the fee.

Hello All, I am new to the community and I have questions regarding my situation. I have read through many of the threads and I am very confused as of what I should do. I live in the state of NC and I now know that pay day loans are prohibited. I currently have several pay day loans that I am in a position to pay off in full. When I contacted the companies, the amounts were way more than what the principle balance was which I didnt budget for. I would like to pay them off as soon as possible. I have already closed my bank account and opened a new one that they do not have access to.
