I received a collections notice in 9/2008 for a cell phone bill dated 11/2005. The cell phone company suspended the acct in 11/2005 I sent the CA a debt validation ltr and the collection agency sent me copies of the bill with my name. I have never owned this acct. I believe my identity was used. The collections agency is now giving me 5 days to discuss repayment. HELP!

Hi all--- I have $25K in debt and I am moving in a debt settlement direction. If you have done settlement before, how long did your program take? Which did you use? Most importantly, how long after you finished did it take for your credit score to improve?

Ok, I received a collection noticed from Enhanced Recovery Corporation, but when I called to pay it they said that it had been closed, and that I need it to call IDT CARMEL. I asked for a number and they told me to call 411. So, I called 411 and they had no info, so I looked them up in the internet and found nothing but complaints telling me that I should not deal with this people. I know I owe HSBC (which was originally $250 in 2005, and now it's about $662, don't know how) and I just want to fix my credit.

Hello, I am finally feeling the heat of my past credit history and have been unemployed for the last 3 months. I currently have about 15,000 in debt and my credit score is 529. I was wondering how would go about and getting a loan to consolidate my debt or to ask my creditors a lower rate. Any information, guidance, and help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi I got served by Mann Bracken llc /midland funding for a credit card i had back in 2006 . It says that i have 30 days to answer, the l.a. superior court website show a proof of service filed on 10/17/08 and i was suppossed (sub served by a co-resident that i don't know) the summons was left on my mail box. Someone told me that if "i know" that person i have 40 days instead of 30 to file my answer.

Received collection letter from Niagara Credit Solutions, Inc.. Anyone heard of them? They are the 4th CA to have account. so far no validation from any.

I too like so many here have fallen into the payday loan debacle. The bank froze my account for other reasons and all the payments due last Friday are now delinquent (11/14) I have a total of 3k out: Cashnet- 500 due 11/14 Think Cash- 500 paid ~240 Geneva- 500 (first payment due 11/28) BIG- 200 CashTranferCenter (overseas) 300 (they called today and want it all, no payments, threatened garnishment) HotPayDay 500 (paid 50) they are holding payment until Friday. From the reading I've done here, the bank account is closed already so that's good.

I've just spent hours writing letters to all the pdls I've taken loans with over the last year. In every case, they were operating illegally and I paid well beyond the principal amount. My primary goal is to get them to mark my accounts PIF--is it worth my time to go after them for the overage? My guess is it would be a very cold day in a place far south of here before that ever happened. Has anyone had any luck in that regard?
