Risk of using cashier's check to pay off illegal payday loan?

13 years 2 months ago
I took out some payday loans from lenders I found out were unlicensed and therefore illegal in my state (WA). I have closed my checking account and sent emails to them revoking authorization for ACH withdrawals. One loan is paid off and there are three remaining that I still need to pay off the principal. What is the best method for making these payments while protecting your bank information? Are cashier's check safe or can any information about my bank account be taken?

Weird Calls at Work

13 years 2 months ago
OK, with all of the @#$% that USA Cash Express has pulled, I am wondering if they are trying to pull one on me. For all I know, it could be some bottom feeder doing this. We repeatedly get a caller at work with a "Private" caller ID. the first day, he asked for the name of the Company's owner. I asked where he was calling from, and gave me a name and said he was calling from the local university, it's "detailed business" to discuss with him. Hmm, never had caller ID blocked from them before.

Anyone have any wins with this company? I have had a couple correspondences and now they say they are sending this to their legal department. I will stick to my guns as I have over paid this loan by $400 and have asked for a PIF and a refund without any success thus far.

Is there a way to not have the Credit Card Consolidation act as additional income when it comes to filing taxes?

looking for some more help

I am currently 57 days past due on my Justice Federal Credit Union personal unsecured loan. I have received about 7 letters, 15 phone calls, and 2 emails from the creditor to which I've returned a phone call once and email once. Things got interesting today when I received an email from the senior collector stating, "further possible legal pursuit of your account once it goes 60 days past due on May 13th.

Ok I have closed my bank account and opened a new one. I'm sending out the ACH revoke letters this morning, as the ACH's are supposed to come out tomorrow morning (payday). I live in Texas, and this is what I have: Speedy Cash - 2 loans GoCash.com $400 Advance Direct $500 Integrity Advance $500 Plain Green $1000 Bottom Dollar $400 CashNet $500 CashCentral $400 USA Cash Express ACE Cash Express CashCall Yes, I know its a lot. Two job losses..etc. So, some of these I can't tell if they're legal. What do I do about the CSO's?

i'm being taken to district court by a debt collector, what should I do?

13 years 2 months ago
I need some advice as this is my first time being in court. I live in the state of Massachusetts. A credit card that I could no longer pay for was sold to a debt collection agency who then hired a lawyer to take me to small claims court. The debt is about 1,300-1,400. The problem is, I am not currently employed. I don't have money to pay it (if they do win the judgement) here are my questions 1)Would I be considered "Judgement Proof"? I do not have any incoming income, i don't own a home or car.

starting to catch my breathe but have a question....

13 years 2 months ago
I have done all the steps listed. Closed my account, sent all letters and filed compliments. Today is my payday I'm kind of in limbo until I get my paper check and open a new account, which is fine. My question is should I send a second letter to these PDLs? I just received auto responses from some and nothing from others. However when I try to access my account on their website the say something to the effect that their compliance department is handling it. Must of them owe me refunds. I just want them to know Im not going to back down.:sun:
