Unpaid Tuition went to collections

16 years 5 months ago
Hello, all! My wife has been having problems dealing with all kinds of collectors. From cc's to phone bills and now the newest addition - college tuition. She hasn't paid them since the fall of 2005 and just this fall it went to collections. She dropped out and haven't had a clue that she owed them anything, thinking her sallie mae would cover her tuition, which, of course, it didn't. It is a public university and the collection agency is NCO. My questions are: is there a statute of limitations on the unpaid tuition?(not a loan, just a school balance). The school, as their rep.

Help with Car Title Loan Company

16 years 5 months ago
Does anyone have any info on reputable car title loan companies? Are they legit or like PDLs? I need about $800 to get me out of a hole and my only way out is to use my car title for a loan. I'm not sure how it works, so any info would help! Thanks!

First Credit Services - 800-392-4029/800-580-3912

I'm not sure who they're collecting for (they left only a message on my cell phone), but they left an extremely unprofessional message staying that they'd been trying to reach me and asking why I never called them back. My checking account was recently closed by Huntington and I'm assuming that the call is in reference to this. Has anyone had any recent dealings with this agency?

PDL's ignoring my letters

16 years 5 months ago
What happens if these PDL companies hae been ignoring my ceast and decist letter and keep calling me. Also I spoke to the attorney general's office in Ohio and they are saying you cannot make a complaint with them for internet PDL's. You have to go to the state the company is based in. Is this true or should I speak to somone else?

Not sure how much I actually owe.

Hi I am new to blogging. By chance I found out that the OneClickCash will continue taking money unless I stop the transactions. I took a l$300 loan and after three payments of $90 I still owe $370. Why? Because my loan is renewed every month for $90 whether I want it renewed or not. My option is to pay $90 + $50 for six months to pay of the remaining $370. That would leave a $300 debt costing me roughly $1267. Do I have to pay this?. I do not mind paying back what would be considered fair but this is astronomical. Other loans had been just short of twice the original amount.

Shazzers... Question for you

16 years 5 months ago
Shazzers- I see you have actually gotten money returned to you by illegal payday lenders. I resided in Wa State, and have had overpayments to Ameriloan and One Click Cash. Haver you been able to get any payments refunded by either on of these? I posted another topic, but thought it may be easier to address this to you. Thank you- Alison

Disputing ACH withdrawals by illegal PDLs with your bank?

16 years 5 months ago
Hello everyone ! I, like many of you, also got in over my head with some pdl's over the last year. I live in the state of Virginia and I had taken out two loans with internet companies: Payday-Loan-Yes and Paycheck Today. After reading the advice from many of you on how to deal with illegal internet lenders, I sent each company a cease and desist, closed my bank account with a hard block on ANY attempts to ACH debit, and opened a new account, and sent complaints to the Virginia Bureau of Finance, the Attorney Generals for each company, the BBB for each company, and the FTC.

Anybody know anything about CheckNGo?

16 years 5 months ago
I took a loan out with them via the internet. I have actually done so about 7 times. I live in Washington state and all together have paid over $665 in fees. This last one I just didn't have the money for so I placed a stop pay on it. Has anybody ever done this with Check N Go? What is my next step?

OneClickCash

So on Friday I sent the letter to OCC to tell them that I revoked authorization etc...etc.. and gave them the WA state laws and requested to be only contacted in writing and what do they do... they CALL me this morning with some message about how I have "other options" and to please call them. What other options? I have already re-paid the loan twice over in their fees and such so what other option do they think I want to take. At least I have proof that they received the letter... apparently didn't READ it as it states clearly to only contact by USPS or email...
